As we continue to grow and expand, we are seeking a motivated intern to support our battery modelling efforts.
🔍 Project Overview
This internship focuses on the development of an electrical and thermal battery model using MATLAB/Simulink and Simscape. The project centers around a specific lithium-ion battery cell that has been internally characterized through laboratory testing. The goal is to create a validated Simscape model of this cell and use it to simulate battery modules and packs. This work supports ongoing development in battery systems, SoC diagnostics and the creation of digital battery models.
🎯 Objectives
- Learn and apply Simscape for battery modelling.
- Use internal tools to extract cell parameters.
- Build and validate a cell-level model.
- Scale model to module/pack level.
- Document and hand off modelling workflow.
💼 Responsibilities:
- Analyse characterization data of the selected battery cell.
- Use MATLAB/Simulink and Simscape to build and simulate battery models.
- Validate model behaviour using internal test profiles .
- Simulate small battery pack configurations.
- Document assumptions, parameter sets and results.
- Prepare a final presentation of outcomes and modelling workflow.
Requirements:
✍🏽 Education : Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
Due to time constraints, only candidates with valid work authorization in France will be considered.
💻 Technical stack:
- Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink (prior exposure to Simscape is a plus).
- Understanding of battery fundamentals: SoC, OCV, internal resistance, thermal effects.
- Familiarity with electrical circuit modelling or control systems is a bonus.
