Embedded Systems Engineer (M/F)
Embedded Systems Engineer Internship (M/F)
5-month minimum internship – Deeptech startup – Battery diagnostics – Paris (Nanterre)
Are you an innovative thinker looking to join a French startup that’s pushing the boundaries of battery technology? Entroview is seeking passionate individuals ready to take on exciting challenges and help reshape the sustainable energy sector!
Who are we?
Entroview is a pioneering deep tech startup that uses entropy-based technology to provide battery diagnostic solutions. Our approach, grounded in physics and thermodynamics and combined with AI, delivers reliable, traceable diagnostics that are unique in the world.
Our mission: to make batteries safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. We work with major players in the automotive industry to accelerate the transition to more responsible mobility.
Why is this position a good fit for you?
Do you enjoy working on engines just as much as analyzing data on a screen? Then this internship is for you.
You’ll join Auguste (Innovation Manager) and Hamza (Control Systems Engineer) to expand coverage of our vehicle catalog and strengthen the robustness of entrOBD—our onboard OBD device for diagnosing electric vehicle batteries—before its commercial launch. This is a hands-on, data-driven, and product-focused role. It’s not a documentation internship.
Your contributions will have a direct impact on the product we’re launching this year.
Your responsibilities:
- (~35%) Reverse engineering of electric vehicles: deciphering model-specific CAN frames, identifying actionable battery parameters, and documenting vehicle-specific details
- (~40%) Collecting field data from our customers and beta testers, analyzing and validating the robustness of our diagnostic algorithms
- (~15%) Contributing to improving the user experience of our app
- (~10%) Documenting progress: catalog coverage, identified anomalies, field feedback
What we’re looking for:
- A student at an engineering school or pursuing a Master’s degree (minimum 4 years of higher education, ideally 5 years), specializing in embedded systems, electronics, automation, or electrical engineering
- Genuine technical curiosity: you enjoy understanding why something isn’t working before figuring out how to fix it
- Ability to debug independently and clearly communicate findings to the team
- Comfortable working on a variety of topics: communication protocols, batteries, development, and field operations
- A valid driver’s license (Class B) is required — regular travel to our clients and partners is expected
Required skills:
- Basic knowledge of embedded communication protocols (CAN bus, OBD-II)
- Basic knowledge of electronics or embedded systems
- Ability to analyze data (Python, Excel, or equivalent)
- Attention to detail in documentation (each vehicle tested must be tracked and reproducible)
Optional skills:
- Knowledge of battery management systems (BMS)
- Experience with OBD diagnostic tools (ELM327, Wireshark, CANalyzer, or similar)
- Basic knowledge of mobile or web development (UX contributions)
- Interest in the automotive sector or electric mobility
Why join Entroview?
- You’ll be working on a product that’s going into commercial production this year—your contributions will be immediately visible
- A close-knit technical team (Automation Engineer + Product Manager) to support and challenge you every day
- 1 day of remote work per week—the rest of the time, you’ll be in the field or at the office in Nanterre (92)
- Travel primarily within the ĂŽle-de-France region, though travel throughout France is possible (always accompanied)
- Stipend starting at €1,100/month, depending on your profile
- Potential for full-time employment at the end of the internship for candidates who fit well into the team
